Your floating oasis.

Book a stay on board our spacious boatel The Palmer.

The Palmer spent most of her life touring the waterways of South West England. We brought her to Gainsborough Wharf in the summer of 2015.

Kitted out in blues and greys with antique tiles and mid-century furniture, the Palmer is bright with bags of space for up to four people. There is a large bedroom with a king-size bed; which importantly is designed so you can watch the ducks.  It’s got everything a normal house would - fully functioning toilet, large shower, kitchen (galley!), central heating, electricity and water.

We provide luxurious bedding and towels. We'll also spoil you with beautiful soap, shampoos and conditioners.

There are two private decks for you to enjoy the sunset, feed the ducks, chat with passing boaters or simply watch east London go by.

To save you rushing to the shops when you arrive we can organise a breakfast hamper that’ll include: yogurt, granola, juice, fruit, sour dough, jams, bacon and eggs - meaning you can eat at your own pace when you get up. We’ve also got some delicious craft beers and champagne, among other treats, for sale in the fridge.

MANY guests stay at Gainsborough Wharf because they know our neighbourhood is bang in the middle of London’s foodie renaissance - you'll be given a beautiful, hand drawn map with our favourite local stops.

We love good food too. On board you’ll find a good selection of teas, coffee, fresh organic milk and butter. You’ll also find a selection of spices, oils and dried foods.

For a supplement, we can offer our delicious “get up and out” breakfast – this will typically include organic yogurt, granola, sourdough bread, jams, juice; and depending on the season could also include avocados, berries, tomatoes, figs or grapefruit. But if you fancy a more loafy morning, we can get you the best eggs, bacon, spinach, tomatoes, smoked salmon, kippers, charcuterie, black pudding or whatever else you think you might need. It’ll be in your foodie hamper when you arrive.

Comfy bed & gorgeous interior...

“We had the best time on Henry’s very beautiful and cosy house boat. On the boat there is a roaring fire, comfy bed and gorgeous interior with everything you need in the kitchen - it was a little home away from home."

— Caroline.

The location in London is perfect...

Beautiful Houseboat! really enjoyed staying there - the location in London is perfect - I love the interior - and everything you could need on a stay is there - loved it and will hopefully be back soon”

— L.K.

Nicer than most apartments...

We couldn’t believe it was a boat as it is nicer than most apartments of around the same price. A piece of nature in the heart of London, just a small walk from Columbia Road flower market and the vibrant Dalston area.

— Loriana.
